We understand that by giving our daughter a Lithuanian name with a pronunciation unknown to most North Americans, it makes it difficult for our family and friends to to know how to say it without talking with us. In an effort to help you pronounce 'IEVA' as the Lithuanians do, we spelled it out below based on the IPA (International Phonetical Alphabet). The 'i' and the 'e' keep their individual sounds, but as you say the name at normal speed the sounds blend together, almost making a 'y' sound (as in 'yawn' or 'you'). Say it aloud & you'll understand.
